2025 HEADS UP - Passing, Shooting & Stickhandling

Hockey passing, shooting and stickhandling is crucial for young players because it develops their ability to control and move the puck effectively, create scoring opportunities, maneuver around opponents, and build confidence on the ice, which are all vital skills for success at any level of the game. The safest way to play hockey is with your HEAD UP and it all starts by PRACTICING stickhandling with your HEAD UP.

This new program was developed in response to WYHA coaches request for a program that improves skaters passing, shooting and stickhandling skills.

*Coach Lane King will guide skaters through on-ice demonstrations and skill building drills.
*Every week skaters will be sent home with a new skill building drills that focus on hand-eye coordination, agility, and puck control.
*Parents are responsible for providing a shooting and skills practice area at home.
