    More
Circular Economy (CE) oriented public procurement can play a major role in addressing climate change, waste, and emissions. In a CE, once the user is finished with the product, it goes back into the supply chain instead of the landfill. A circular economy is concerned with rethinking economic models to reduce both the pressure on resources and the generation of waste. Sustainable, green, and socially responsible public procurement are among the key focus areas in the advancement of CE including new circular public procurement development.

Tuesday L2-3 (Snowberry) Fleets and Utilities: Funding for Planning and EVSE
    Mary Till
    More
Utilities and their fleets are engaged in new relationships with one another as they plan for growing energy demands needed to support fleet electrification. To plan, one needs to know when, where, and how much vehicles are going to charge, both now with few EVs and in the future as uptake increases. The aggregate EV load is impacted by the number of EVs, daily driving habits, the time of day the vehicles will charge, and the seasonal variance in temperatures and driving operations. The variability makes planning difficult.

    Mary Till | Sawatch Labs
Mary first began working with fleets in 2006, assisting with the Pennsylvania statewide emergency radio rebanding (PA-STARNet). She has worked with fleets in many industries and in over 20 countries to leverage the power of driving data to create positive behavior change, demonstrating results in reduced fuel consumption & emissions, and increased safety. Ms. Till is proud to serve as Board Secretary for Drive Clean Colorado, a Clean Cities Coalition.

    Hannah Ubl
    More
The tides have changed, and so have perceptions about what makes for a good job, a good organization, and a good leadership methodology. So why is it that so many leaders continue to operate with a workplace ethos that just isn’t resonating in the current work world?

Those that aren’t adapting to the new rules of engagement are facing an environment rife with frustrated employees, high attrition rates, and broken lines of communication… not to mention a pipeline of talent that will quickly dry up without much-needed change. This keynote makes the case for why a new leadership mindset is critical, and explores how the best in the biz are embracing transformation.

    ATTENDEE TAKEAWAYS:
    — How to lead in a way that values trust and transparency over strict rules and regulation
    — Listening to understand over listening to respond
    — Learn how to increase employee retention and decrease burnout

Insatiably curious, Hannah has dedicated the past decade of her career to researching people at work… and not just top talent and leadership, but also everyone in between. Her skill lies in digesting those findings, and pairing them with the latest workplace and social trends, to deliver custom takeaways for every client. She’s been invited to share those findings with executives, leaders, and employees in hundreds of organizations like Cisco Systems, PPG, Sodexo, numerous universities, and multiple hospital associations. As co-founder of Good Company Consulting, she’s committed to flipping the traditional workplace script, throwing out the old “employees are lines on a spreadsheet” in favor of treating people at work more like well, people. With heart, deep conviction, and a good dose of self-deprecating humor, Hannah will sweep you along on a journey of insights that lead to deep, lasting mindset shifts about how work works. Don’t be surprised if you feel like grabbing a coffee with her post-presentation and talking about all things people and work (it’s her most common piece of feedback after “that was so helpful!”).

Tuesday L3-3 (Snowberry) Hydrogen and its Role in the Transition of Fleets to Zero-Emissions
    Buford Barr
    More
A huge challenge has been placed at the feet of fleet managers - figure out how to transition your fleet from its current fossil-fuel based makeup to one based on zero-emissions. Figure out the right answer and do it now. This can be quite an imposing task and even downright scary. We can help walk you through that transition and hydrogen can play a potentially significant role. Hydrogen Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles are true zero-emission vehicles (the only emission is water vapor) and are true electric vehicles, simply powered by a tank of hydrogen instead of a large battery pack. So, a zero-emission vehicle with the same operating parameters as the diesel vehicles you know so well. Come see how hydrogen can help in the transition of your fleet.

Wednesday L5-1 (Big Thompson AB) Fleet Electrification Equation
    Nick Bettis
    More
There can be no doubt that commercial and government fleets across North America are being urged and incented to deploy electric vehicles. The pressure may come from governments, whether federal, state, or local, in the form of incentives or regulations; or it may come from company leadership, investors, employees or customers. With climate change becoming an increasingly evident reality, and urban air pollution claiming many lives every year, replacing gasoline and diesel trucks, vans and buses with zero-emission vehicles is rising to the top of many agendas.

However, as many fleets begin exploring how to transition to electric, perceived, and actual complexities surface that can seem daunting. Leveraging Lightning eMotors 15 years of fleet experience and 3,000,000 real-world EV miles, we have defined six variables that, when optimized, typically lead to a successful commercial EV deployment. In this session, we will explore each of these variables and provide key take-aways that can streamline fleet electrification and maximize the opportunity for a successful deployment.
The six variables fleets must consider:
    • Vehicles
    • Infrastructure
    • Financing
    • Software
    • Service and support
    • Incentives

A comprehensive understanding of, and plan for, these areas is required to achieve a successful, sustainable, and scalable commercial EV deployment. Lightning eMotors refers to the collection of these “variables” as the “Fleet Electrification Equation” and the presentation will provide a thorough discussion of these variables and chart a path to enable fleets to scale.

Nick Bettis is the Director of Marketing & Sales Operations for Lightning eMotors, a leading manufacturer of zero emissions battery electric and fuel-cell electric commercial vehicles including shuttles buses, transit buses, delivery trucks, last-mile delivery vans, ambulances, work trucks, school buses, and motor coaches. Lightning also offers robust telematics on all vehicles and comprehensive fleet charging solutions.

Nick has been with Lightning for over two years and has a passion for sustainable transportation, having worked with hundreds of fleets to help design optimal end-to-end electrification solutions for their specific needs. Prior to Lightning eMotors, Nick was the Vice President of Marketing at RLE Technologies, a data center monitoring equipment manufacturer.

Tuesday Keynote (Aspen Daisy, Elderberry, Goldenglow, Snowberry) Hannah Ubl | Work Reimagined: Leading For Today’s Workplace
Hannah Ubl
More
The tides have changed, and so have perceptions about what makes for a good job, a good organization, and a good leadership methodology.

Buford Barr | New Day Hydrogen
Buford is a proud graduate of the University of Texas at Austin (Hook’em Horns!). An engineer by education, experience, and some would say personality.

Buford is an established front-line leader in the energy industry. Seeing that the energy industry was at a transition point and certain that he wanted to play a part in that transition, Buford had the good fortune to connect with several like-minded individuals from very different backgrounds and, by the close of 2020, they created New Day Hydrogen.

New Day Hydrogen is a hydrogen project development company based in Colorado. Their mission is to assist fleets in their ongoing efforts to transition to zero-emission by establishing hydrogen fueling and infrastructure. We do this to because our future demands clean energy now!

As a founder of a startup company, he wears numerous hats, but is primarily focused on the development of our customer and project partner base, as well as the successful development and implementation of our projects. He is a subject matter expert on federal and state levels grants and incentives, and on-road and off-road fuel cell electric vehicles.

Wednesday L4-3 (Snowberry) Clean Air Now
Steve Shallenberger
More
Rivotto was started two years ago with the mission statement "CleanAir Now" bridging the gap between combustion engines and electrification regarding the Zero emissions targets our Federal and State governments are mandating. We support Electrification, however the road to mass adoption may take longer than expected. Supply chain issues, Grid capacity, battery technology, cost factors and ample charging stations may hamper this lofty goal. The ECO Fuel system works on all gas and diesel engines, it will reduce emissions from 35%-84%, increase MPG 10%-15%, and on diesel engines it will reduce regens by 60%,use less DEF, and double the life of a DPF filter.
